The school has a total of about 130 students only. Most live on campus.
Dance and general education classes are both free. Lodging & meals are not.
The program is organized over 6 years, with 6 divisions for girls and 6 divisions for boys.
Mornings are for general education, afternoons for dance.
Every year, students must pass an exam to move on to the next division. Some may have to double, sometimes triple a division, before moving on to the next one, or dropping out. Some may skip a division if they reach a higher level sooner.
First (final) division students finally get a chance to audition for a spot in the Ballet of the Opera and with other companies if no position is available at the time.
